The deadline has passed for NFL team's to designate players for the franchise tag ahead of next season.
Just four players were franchise tagged before the 4pm ET deadline today, down from eight in 2013 and 21 in 2012.
The teams to use the tags were:
New York Jets - Nick Folk (Kicker) - $3.5 million
Washington Redskins - Brian Orakpo (Defensive End) - $11.455 million
New Orleans Saints - Jimmy Graham (Tight End) - Still in discussion based on position
Carolina Panthers - Greg Hardy (Defensive End) - $13.1 million
The Cleveland Browns (Alex Mack - Center) and Pittsburgh Steelers (Jason Worilds - Defensive End) used the transition tag.
The deadline for tagged players to agree to multi-year deals in replace of their one-year contracts is July 15 and we can expect to see some of the players above involved in extensive negotiations ahead of this date.
Meanwhile with so many teams opting out of using the franchise tag this time around, there will be a number of high-profile players heading for free agency unless a deal can be reached in the next couple of weeks.
This includes Jairus Byrd (Bills - Safety), Michael Bennett (Seahawks -Defensive End), and Vontae Davis (Colts - Cornerback).
