Liverpool have moved up to second in the Premier League table as we move towards possibly one of the most exciting ends to the season in the history of the competition.
Liverpool have had a very tough time for the past few years, but this season has seen them return to the Liverpool that fans are used to.
For the past three or so years they have had very poor campaigns and performances but their recent rise of fortune has to be attributed to the philosophies that Brendan Rodgers has installed.
Most notably in this respect are the signings of the Brazilian Philipe Coutinho and of course the Englishman Daniel Sturridge.
Since arriving at Anfield, Sturridge has become one of the best marksmen in the country. Having been under appreciated at Chelsea, he is now at a club willing to give him all the playing time he wants and it has truly paid off, with the Englishmen scoring some unbelievable goals.
Arguably the most important deal was the Luis Suarez extension. Even though this was an internal negotiation, he has been the best player for Liverpool and this season one of the best forwards in the world.
Liverpool may not win the league this season, but next season if they continue with their current form they will certainly be odds on favourites to clinch the title.
Though their manager Rodgers has been criticised a lot over the past two years, he has now silenced his critics and he has shown how good of a manager he actually is.
