Last night's record night for LeBron James has reignited the discussion over who will be crowned league MVP at the end of the season.
James spoke passionately about his ambition to claim the award after posting a career high 61 points last night in Miami and is clearly eager to impress in the games that remain.
The star was named the NBA's top player last year but he faces stiff competition this time around from Oklahoma City Thunder's Kevin Durant.
And the latest odds released by Bovada reflect the current belief that KD is leading the race at after a dominant season.
Durant comes in at 1/3 while LeBron is available at odds of 2/1 to claim the award at season's end.
The OKC man has averaged 31.6 points, 5.6 assists and 7.7 rebounds (all career highs) this year and has been touted as MVP by many within the league.
Ultimately the decision is down to sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada, but James certainly made a statement with his performance against the Bobcats Monday.
Durant will try and respond tonight when his Thunder take on the struggling Philadelphia 76ers.
