Demarcus Ware needs to take a pay cut for the Cowboys sake

The Dallas Cowboys have decided they want to keep defensive star Demarcus Ware but not on his current contract and will look to restructure a new deal.

Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys are trying to create more cap space as the NFL approaches the free agency period and the organisation are currently turning their attention to Demarcus Ware.

There has been an ongoing dilemma presented by the Demarcus Ware situation and it had been unclear whether the Cowboys were going to keep the star defensive end.

Ware is on a current salary of $12.25 million and a cap number of $16 million, the Cowboys are drastically trying to reduce the cap space but want to keep Ware who is the Cowboys all-time leader in sacks.

It is yet unknown whether the defensive end will be willing to take a pay cut and therefore could become available to many teams in free agency.

Despite a disappointing 2013 season for Ware, he is still considered one of the best defensive players in the NFL and there will be many teams interested in his signature if he were to become available.
