The Argentina-born striker first played for River Plate and Millonarios before earning a move to Real Madrid, where he established his status as the club’s greatest ever player, inspiring Los Blancos to eight league titles and five consecutive European Cups.
Di Stefano walked away from Real Madrid in 1964, having scored an exceptional 216 goals in 284 matches.
