Manchester United: 8 potential summer targets (1)

Manchester United boss David Moyes want to bring in eight new reinforcements at the end of the season, according to the Daily Mail.

The Scotsman faces a busy summer as he is likely to move on a number of Manchester United's underperforming stars before bringing in a handful of world-class replacements.

Manchester United have been linked with hundreds of players since Moyes took over the reins from Sir Alex Ferguson in the summer - but he has only managed to entice Marouane Fellaini and Juan Mata to the club.

Moyes may find it especially difficult to attract the world's biggest stars to Old Trafford in the next few months as the Premier League champions are likely to miss out on Champions League football.

The former Everton manager is going to have to splash the cash with Manchester United needing at least one centre-back, a left-back and a central midfielder.

Moyes and chief executive Ed Woodward need to match the efforts of their predecessors Ferguson and David Gill in the summer of 2007 when they managed to sign Carlos Tevez, Owen Hargreaves, Anderson and Nani.

Here we speculate who Moyes may look to target in the summer.
