Barcelona and Manchester United will go head-to-head in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund centre-back Mats Hummels.
The Catalan giants have been forced into making Hummels their number one summer target due to Carles Puyol's announcement that he would be leaving the club at the end of the season.
Le10 Sport suggest Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino is keen on signing the Dortmund defender in the summer - due to the 25-year-old's impressive displays for club and country in recent years.
Manchester United boss David Moyes is also said to be in the market for a centre-back at the end of the season as Rio Ferdinand could join Inter Milan-bound Nemanja Vidic in leaving Old Trafford before the 2014/15 campaign.
However Manchester United are likely to miss out on signing Hummels if they fail to qualify for next season's Champions League.
Moyes may try to use former Dortmund midfielder Shinji Kagawa as a makeweight to land Hummels - but may find it hard in convincing the German international to reject interest from Barcelona.
