Washington Redskins quarterback, Robert Griffin III may not have had the most productive season on the football field but on twitter today he has shown followers that he still has the best socks in the NFL.

RGIII posted a picture on twitter of what appears to be his feet sporting rather colorful green socks along with the caption: "Show me your #SockSwag"

I'm not sure if it's an alligator or some other creature but whatever it is, it's awesome.

Other people on twitter agreed; the tweet received hundreds of retweets and favorites within an hour of posting and the fun did not stop there.

Followers of RGIII soon began posting pictures of themselves in colorful socks and some had some real sock swag.

Fans from all over the country have now shared their colorful sock designs with RGIII and the world on the social network site.

RGIII played in just 13 games for Washington last season and recorded a rating of 82.2 in his second season at the NFL level.

I can't wait to see what sort of footwear Griffin is rocking when the season starts up again this year.
