Chelsea and Atletico Madrid will meet for showdown talks over the future of the highly-rated Thibaut Courtois in June, according to reports in Italy.
Italian source TuttoMercato claims that the two sides have conflicting desires when it comes to the youngster, as both want to keep hold of him for the future.
The Belgian stopper has been at Atletico on loan for the past three seasons from the Blues, and has made his name as a one of the rising stars of European football.
Now it’s believed that Jose Mourinho is determined to bring him back to Stamford Bridge and incorporate him into his first-team squad, with some reports even suggesting that the Special One plans to use him to replace Petr Cech.
However TuttoMercato states that Atletico boss Diego Simeone is also keen on making Courtois his permanent No.1, and will try to turn his loan move into an official transfer this summer. Rumours have already speculated that he would be willing to pay £20million to force Mourinho's hand into a sale.
The Spanish outfit have been a surprise package this season and currently find themselves sitting third in the La Liga table, a mere three points behind arch rivals Real Madrid who occupy top spot.
