With it being confirmed by Inter Milan today that Nemanja Vidic is heading to the San Siro in the summer, Manchester United are left with the dilemma of replacing both a talismanic defender and a captain.

A leader both on and off the pitch, his presence will be sorely missed throughout the dressing room, leaving a void which has to be filled. Other senior players are also linked with leaving the club in the summer, with this no doubt being a transitional period for the Old Trafford outfit.

So who is capable of picking up the team following this disastrous season by the scruff of the neck and taking the team forward as skipper?

While it is possible that manager David Moyes (or whoever is at the helm in the summer) could look for a potential replacement in the summer transfer window, it would be controversial to say the least to overlook a few suitable replacements that already lie at his disposal.
