Louis Corbett's dream to watch the Boston Celtics is about come true before he goes blind from a degenerative eye disease.

Corbett, his brother and father who are all New Zealand natives have flown half way round the world to visit the Boston Garden to watch the Celtics.

Thanks have to go the Boston Celtics, corporate donations and friends of the Corbett household who have helped fund the trip to make Louis' dream come true.

Corbett arrived at Logan International Airport earlier this week and tried to sum up the whirlwind ride: "I’ve never experienced anything like this."

It turns out that a Celtic-legend was originally who got Louis hooked on basketball: "I like Larry Bird," and he also spoke about his favourite current player, "(Rajon) Rondo. He’s a point guard. I like point guards."

The Boston Celtics host the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night which means Corbett will get to see two of the best point guards in the league face off as Rondo will battle it out with Stephen Curry.
