Chelsea star David Luiz had his Range Rover clamped while posing for a selfie earlier this week, it has been revealed.

The 26-year-old, being the friendly guy that he is, agreed to pose for a photo when asked by actor Colin Newell near Charing Cross.

But when the Brazil international returned to his car, minutes later, he found that a traffic warden had sprung into action and clamped his back-right tyre.

“I said to him can I have a quick picture... and he forgot about his car,” Newell told the Evening Standard. “We took the picture and were clowning around for a bit – he’s a bit of a livewire – and when he went back to it there was a dirty great big yellow clamp on his Range Rover.

"Those clampers were fast, like ninjas. It was not a nice thing to happen. He had only left it there for five minutes."

A photo of Luiz’s clamped car was posted on Twitter - showing the flashy Range Rover, complete with a celebrity-style personalised number plate.

Luiz has been strongly linked with a move to Barcelona in recent days, so will this latest incident will make him even more keen to leave London?

The versatile defender arrived at Stamford Bridge from Benfica in 2011 and has since established his reputation as one of Europe’s best central defenders-cum-defensive midfielders.
