The agent of Atletico Madrid midfielder and reported Manchester United target Arda Turan has fueled transfer speculation by claiming that they have received an offer from an English club, reports The Metro.
27-year-old Turan joined the Spanish outfit from Super Lig champions Galatasaray in 2011 and has been an important player for Atletico this season as Diego Simeone's men have sought to challenge the established might of Real Madrid and Barcelona and claim their first La Liga title in almost two decades.
His industrious and incredibly hardworking performances for Atletico have seen Turan - who is supposedly rated by his club at the £20 million mark - linked with a move to Manchester United and the player's agent, Ahmet Bulut, has confirmed that an offer has been made by an English team.
"‘Arda is playing at a big club with big goals and wants to be a part of their success," he was quoted by The Metro.
"We have received an offer from an English club. We will see. There are two sides to every transfer, the player and the club, it’s up to both to decide."
While Bulut obviously does not state which club has come forward to make an offer for his client, it would surely come as little surprise if it indeed is Manchester United.
The Red Devils, who strolled so effortlessly to their 20th top-flight title in Sir Alex Ferguson's final season with the club last year, have badly struggled under the guidance of David Moyes and are widely expected to invest significantly in improving the playing squad this summer.
While Manchester United bolstered their attacking options during the recent transfer window by bringing Juan Mata to Old Trafford from Chelsea, recent performances - including that abysmal 2-0 defeat to Olympiacos in the Champions League last month - would suggest that the club are in need of further strengthening in every department.
