As supporters and passionate followers of football, arguably nothing provokes a more stirring response from the stands than witnessing players demonstrating the same sort of passion on the pitch.
In previous years, we can observe a plethora of players who have carved out a career at the elite level despite being clearly inferior to many of their teammates purely as a result of their feeling and committed application towards the game.
Atletico Madrid midfielder Arda Turan is somewhat of a special case in this regard.
A player who clearly possesses enormous passion towards the game, the Turkish international manages to combine such emotion with stellar technique and is a vital player for Atletico Madrid - particularly this season as they look to challenge fierce cross-city Real Madrid and Barcelona at the summit of La Liga.
It is this that makes the former Galatasaray star, in my view, such a desirable option for reputable clubs looking to bolster their squads this summer.
Earlier today it was confirmed by the player's agent that £20 million-rated Turan - who has been linked with a move to Manchester United - had received an offer from an English club.
Now while the name of the club was left out for the time being, it wouldn't come as a shock if it were Manchester United who were in pursuit of Turan given that David Moyes is expected to re-invest heavily in his squad this summer after such a turgid opening campaign to his career at the club.
Personally, I believe Manchester United should endeavour to sign Turan and as such should press ahead with an offer for his services - if they haven't already, of course.
In the Red Devils' current predicament, with their hopes of defending their Premier League title long since extinguished and their considerable influence seemingly on the wane both domestically and on the continent, it is players who are able to combine ability in possession with a real passion for the game who should be targeted in order to help them make the transition into a new era.
Turan - who could be seen beating the ground repeatedly in pure and raw frustration having spurned a goalscoring opportunity during last weekend's keenly-anticipated Madrid derby - is a player who really wears his heart on his sleeve (to coin a rather tired cliche) and also boasts the sort of versatility that could see him occupy any attacking role at Old Trafford.
What do you think, Manchester United fans? Do you think it is likely to be your club that has made such an offer for Turan? Would you like to see Moyes pursue such a famously passionate player this summer? Let us know below...
