LA Lakers set to snub free-agents this summer?

The LA Lakers could well snub the option of taking on free agents this summer, and opt to soldier on with ageing star Steve Nash instead, according to Yahoo Sports.

The report claims that Los Angeles aren’t keen on the idea of letting Nash go - and freeing up his $9.7million salary - only to burden themselves with a number of other players who may not be able to cut it alongside Kobe Bryant and co.

The Lakers have struggled massively this year, and many were eyeing the off-season as an opportunity for Mike D’Antoni to recruit one of the high-profile free agents in a bid to turn the franchise’s fortunes around.

However according to Yahoo it now looks as though the Lakers want to keep hold of Nash, and therefore won’t be splashing out in order to attract any of the free-agents on offer.

For his part Nash has admitted that it’s looking like he will be part of the team next season, despite having missed the majority of the campaign through injury.
