Rory McIlroy won't be able to get away from the sight of Tiger Woods at this week's WGC-Cadillac Championship, even after he steps off the golf course.
The Tiger Woods-themed villas are housing some of the pros at the Trump National Doral for the upcoming tournament and McIlroy is one of them.
"I'm staying in Tiger Woods villas, there's photos of him all over . . . I can't get away from him," McIlroy said in a press conference.
After his meteoric rise onto the scene, McIlroy hasn't been able to escape comparisons with the world No.1, with many expecting them to conjure up the next great golfing rivalries.
They haven't taken to trash talk yet, in fact quite the opposite; the pair have struck up a respectful friendship.
McIlroy admits that friendship may be going up a notch this weekend, admitting he nearly text Woods saying: "I can't go to the bathroom without looking at you."
But McIlroy won't have to settle for pictures of Woods, he'll be able to see the real thing on the golf course. Woods is trying to defend his title but has recently suffered from a bad back.
It's all part of what has been a rather surreal week for the Ulsterman, who, earlier this week, had to wait for several minutes on his approach to the ninth green because the Trump helicopter was taking off.
