Chelsea ahead of Man United as favourites to sign £50m midfielder

Chelsea are the bookmakers favourites to sign Everton midfielder Ross Barkley.

Paddypower have placed Chelsea as the 11/4 favourites to sign the England international, just ahead of Manchester United who are out at 16/5

The midfielder has impressed this season and has been linked with a summer switch away from Goodison Park in recent time.

With Manchester United and Chelsea both reportedly interested in the player's services, it remains to be seen as to whether any of England's elite clubs make a move for the 20-year-old.

Barkley has been rated at around £50 million and looks set for a bright future in the Premier League.

Manchester United could make a number of signings in the summer, with midfield additions expected at the Theatre of Dreams. Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho could also add to his squad at the end of the season, however a striker appears to be the priority for the 'Special One'.

However Everton fans will be hoping their talented midfielder stays put in the next transfer window.
