Many teams have strengthened in the off-season. Toronto FC brought in experienced international stars Julio Cesar, Michael Bradley and Jermain Defoe and have a definite chance of competing for the Eastern Conference title if they can gel immediately.

Last seasons finalists Real Salt Lake will be in amongst the action again. Their group of 30-somethings will need youngsters like Luis Gil to step up and really become a game changer.

But enough of the nearly men, lets crack on with the top five teams who have the best chance of landing silverware at the end of the season.
