The 2014 MLS season has come around already.
It seems like only yesterday that Lovell Palmer was 20th man to take a penalty in the freezing cold Sporting Park that hosted the 2013 MLS Cup final.
Palmer missed his spot kick that fateful night and handed Sporting Kansas City their first MLS title win since their re-branding.
But can Kansas repeat? That's the big question.
A lot of teams are vying for their crown and there really is at least six or seven who have a good chance of taking the trophy away from KC.
Many teams have strengthened in the off-season. Toronto FC brought in experienced international stars Julio Cesar, Michael Bradley and Jermain Defoe and have a definite chance of competing for the Eastern Conference title if they can gel immediately.
Last seasons finalists Real Salt Lake will be in amongst the action again. Their group of 30-somethings will need youngsters like Luis Gil to step up and really become a game changer.
But enough of the nearly men, lets crack on with the top five teams who have the best chance of landing silverware at the end of the season.
