Darren Sproles is out of a job in New Orleans.

NFL.com is reporting that the Saints will release the veteran running back.

Sproles spent three season in New Orleans, and caught over 70 passes each of his three years with the Saints.

The move will save New Orleans about $3.5 million in cap space.

The 30-year-old, who is entering his ninth NFL season, should be one of the most coveted running backs in free agency because of his versatility.

Because he was released, Sproles is eligible to sign with any team before the league's offical free agent signing window opens on March 11th
