Chelsea striker Fernando Torres, could be offered an escape route from Stamford Bridge this summer, with Italian giants Inter Milan ready to offer £20m for the misfiring Spaniard according to the Daily Mail.
Just days after agreeing a deal with Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic, who will join Inter at the end of the season, the Italian side are keen to offer Torres a career lifeline, and are prepared to meet Chelsea's valuation in order to continue their squad rebuild.
With continued speculation that Jose Mourinho is on the hunt for a new striker, a big-money signing is likely, and with just two years remaining on Torres' Chelsea contract, it seems they are ready to cash in on their record signing after a turbulent spell in London, in which he has failed to live up to his £50m price tag.
Chelsea broke a British transfer record when signing the 29-year-old from Liverpool three years ago, however he has struggled to the find the net on a regular basis, and following recent comments from Mourinho, it seems his time at the Bridge could be limited.
The Chelsea boss was caught on an undercover camera complaining at the club's lack of striking options, despite sitting top of the Premier League.
Chelsea sit four points clear of Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table, and the Blues will be looking to maintain their good form later today when they host Tottenham Hotspur.
