I would like to start this particular item by saying that I happen to feel the criticism of Demichelis has been ever-so-slightly over the top in recent times.
The former Argentine international, for example, appeared to cop the majority of the flak for Fabio Borini's opender in last week's Capital One Cup Final - yet it was captain fantastic Vincent Kompany who made the more obvious error.
However, despite that, it is abundantly clear that Demichelis is probably not good enough to be starting regularly for a Premier League title contender.
Manuel Pellegrini is an experienced manager and clearly no fool, so his stubborn refusal to address this issue is bizarre.
Will it end up costing City dearly?
