If anyone out there attempts to boldly claim that they expected Liverpool to be lying second in the Premier League in March, then you can be pretty sure that they are not telling you the whole truth.
After a difficult summer dominated by a transfer saga involving Luis Suarez, the best most Reds fans would have hoped for would surely have been a spirited challenge for a top-four berth.
However, led by the fantastic exploits of Daniel Sturridge and Suarez (or the new 'SAS', as they have become known), Brendan Rodgers' side have defied their obvious defensive weaknesses to put themselves right in the title mix.
They couldn't, could they?
