Manchester United and Liverpool have both been tracking highly-rated Hoffenheim midfielder Roberto Firmino, reports the Sunday People.
The 22-year-old Brazilian has been earning rave reviews in the Bundesliga this season, prompting a number of admiring glances from potential suitors.
Red Devils boss David Moyes has been credited with an interest in bringing Firmino to Old Trafford this summer, while Brendan Rodgers is believed to be an admirer of the South American star, as he too looks to strengthen his ranks at Anfield at the end of the season.
However, both Manchester United and Liverpool could face further competition for his signature from Italy, with Serie 'A' giants Inter Milan also understood to be monitoring the situation closely.
Moyes has made no secret of his desire to sign a creative midfielder when the transfer window reopens, whereas Rodgers is hoping to improve his supply line options for the fearsome strikeforce of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge on Merseyside.
Both clubs have been regular visitors to Germany in 2013/14 to make personal checks on Firmino, as they get ready to go head-to-head for his services in the summer.
