WWE: 8 superstars set for a post-WrestleMania push

Following the WrestleMania XXX pay-per-view which takes place on April 6 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana; eight current WWE Superstars are rumoured to be set for major pushes.

Rumours spread thick and fast around the WWE Universe, from word-of-mouth to leaks from behind the scenes which then spread all across social media.

The latest rumour coming from behind the scenes in the WWE is that eight WWE superstars will be getting a push; meaning you can expect to see these guys in the main event matches, in big storylines and competing for championship titles.

The WWE does have a tendency to drop the ball with certain superstars and certain pushes fail to materialise then the superstars fall back down the ladder such as The Miz and Ryback in recent years. And we cannot forget Triple H’s infamous burials time and time again.

So, which eight superstars are rumoured to be set for a push in the coming months? Let’s take a look…

John Cena
Let’s get the obvious superstar out of the way. Whether you like it or not John Cena will be at the top of the WWE until the day he retires, he makes the business a shed-load of money and in a certain sense his continual main event status is warranted because he is a hard worker.

Ever since he lost the WWE Championship to Daniel Bryan and took some time off for surgery, Cena hasn’t been on our screens as much as we are used to seeing him. He is almost 100% fit so by the time his push does come he will be fully fit to compete on a weekly basis, and he isn’t one to put over new talent such as Chris Jericho; not just yet anyway.

Cena merchandise always sells so we can expect the WWE to heavily promote this; meaning he will be sticking around the main event scene for quite some time and will still be the number one guy in the company.

Daniel Bryan
Behind Cena is another obvious superstar in Daniel Bryan but he is due a push. Not just any push, but a push which includes the WWE World Heavyweight Championship belts over each shoulder.

He has been in some main event matches this year where he headlined SummerSlam and beat Cena, followed by a few bouts with Randy Orton with the championship on the line; but since his feud with Orton fizzled out a feud with Triple H began.

Now it looks likelier than ever that Bryan will be taking Triple H at WrestleMania XXX, replacing an AWOL CM Punk. But after WrestleMania there are plans to have Bryan challenge for the title which Batista is expected to hold around that time, and he is expected to win. Even with the championship and the immense reaction as well as his merchandise selling incredibly well – he will be the number two guy just behind Cena.

Cesaro has impressed since day-one but he is finally opening the eyes of fans who doubted his ability in the first place. He has slowly been teasing a face turn after a couple of falling outs with his teammate Jack Swagger and a WrestleMania match has been touted between the two, or Big E could be thrown into the mix which will include the United States Championship on the line.

But Cesaro’s push is not a standard main event push which we generally expect when we hear these kinds of things, he is expected to have a big match at SummerSlam later this year so his push is one to keep an eye on.

This is probably something many fans did not want to read but Batista is also due a push, even though he will be headlining WrestleMania XXX this year against Randy Orton.

Nevertheless a push has been touted for Batista so it looks as if the fans will have to endure a little longer but he won’t be competing throughout the summer as he will be off promoting his film ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’; so perhaps his push will end just after SummerSlam so he still manages to remain fresh inside the fans’ minds.

Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman
There are no reports as to whether Brock Lesnar will be working any more dates than he is scheduled to but a push for Lesnar and Paul Heyman is on the cards.

At the moment it is unclear as to who Lesnar and Heyman will be feuding with but one thing is for sure; whomever it is Heyman will ensure the feud remains a great one. A title push was mentioned for Lesnar in the build-up to the Royal Rumble but nothing was made of it as Batista went on to win the Royal Rumble, so perhaps Lesnar will be included in a potential title match-up.

Roman Reigns
A massive push has been speculated for a number of months now as Roman Reigns broke out from nowhere. At NXT he performed as Leakee and it looked as if his potential will be limited but ever since he joined up with the already-popular Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose; his potential has skyrocketed, even more than his teammates who were thought to have brighter futures.

Ambrose and Rollins will still have big futures but a Reigns push is due to begin soon, we already see Reigns does most of the match winning and better looking moves to he looks more imposing and it is working. Whether he is pushed to a title, that remains to be seen but his push and the feud will certainly be an interesting one. Let's wait and see if it lives up the the hype.

Bray Wyatt
If Roman Reigns is receiving a push then Bray Wyatt deserves that little bit more. Inside his first few months he alongside Luke Harper and Erick Rowan have taken out the likes of Kane, Daniel Bryan, CM Punk and The SHIELD.

It is practically 99 per cent confirmed that Bray Wyatt and John Cena will go one-on-one at WrestleMania; Wyatt has managed to get the WWE’s biggest superstar in a match on the grandest stage of them all in his first WrestleMania; not bad achievements to show off on your CV. His push will be a good one and it doesn’t matter who it is up against or if it for a title or not. His microphone and in-ring skills speak volumes and we are in for a treat regardless.

Randy Orton
Finally Randy Orton; the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion, is also rumoured to be getting a major push in the coming months, which can only mean he will more than likely drop the titles to Batista at WrestleMania. This one is the most difficult to speculate on as Orton is already in the position he is set to be in down the line.
