Former NFL linebacker Rolando McClain has sorted his life out and is ready to try and hit the NFL with a comeback in 2014, according to sources.

McClain has spent some time away from the NFL in a bid to pull his life together following the admission that continuing to play would force him to 'self destruct.'

Before he retired he had been arrested three times in the space of 18 months for various reasons.

Anger is something that looked likely to ruin the 25-year-old linebacker, but it seems that these feelings have subsided after he took a self-imposed exile in Alabama.

Assault, window tint violation and resisting arrest act as some of the many reasons for several of his arrests.

But according to reports he wants to return to the NFL, and he has notified the franchises in the league as a result.

Baltimore Ravens beat writer Matt Zenitz explained on Twitter today.

"According to a source close to Rolando McClain, McClain has been telling people that he plans on unretiring and playing this year."
