Justin Bieber is a Texas Longhorns fan

Justin Bieber has today proclaimed his college sports loyalty to the Texas Longhorns... or so this picture would have us believe.

Apparently in the region because of the ongoing SXSW music festival currently taking place in Austin, the music superstar took time to visit the University of Texas.

And as this photo doing the rounds on social media shows, Bieber caught up with Longhorns basketball head coach Rick Barnes - throwing up the "Hook 'Em Horns" symbol synonymous with the school in the process.

The music star also spent time playing on the court but it is unlikely his recent exploits will be met with delight by loyal Longhorns fans, or see him called up to the roster anytime soon.

Aggies fans on the other hand? Well I am sure they are delighted they have avoided being linked with the controversial 20-year old and will likely use the images to mock their rivals for a while to come.

The Longhorns basketball team themselves are having a fairly decent season posting a 22-9 record, with Barnes also being named Big 12 Coach of the Year.
