Colin Kaepernick has found it hard to escape the spotlight this offseason. He has found his name in the headlines for slightly controversial reasons after widespread criticism over his contract negotiations.

However, today the quarterback hit out at those critics and showed that his mind is still on football with a picture montage of his offseason preparations.

From the picture it appears that Kaepernick, who is entering his third year in the NFL has been hitting the weights hard since his NFC Championship game loss and is looking to bulk up ahead of 2014.

The quarterback's mom came to his defense last week over remarks made by a columnist who felt that Kaepernick was being too greedy by asking for a huge pay raise.

However it seems that the former Nevada quarterback can fight his own battles and will be looking to do exactly that when the new season comes around this fall.

In 2013, Kaepernick had 21 touchdowns and eight interceptions whilst throwing for over 3,000 yards.
