LA Kings Forward Jordan Nolan has been suspended for one game without pay after his much discussed punch on Edmonton Oilers Forward Jesse Joensuu.
Sunday night as the Kings went to Edmonton, they were 4-1 up in the second period when a scuffle broke out.
As the officials separated the players and all looked calm, Nolan swung and connected very firmly with the unsuspecting Joensuu's jaw.
Nolan was assessed with a double-minor penalty for roughing and has also been the recipient of a lot of disapproval from the rest of the hockey world.
Now banned for a game without pay, Nolan will forfeit over $3,500 to the Players Emergency Assistance Fund.
The incident didn't change the direction of the match as LA went on to win 4-2 and continue their incredible run of form to seven straight wins.
Nolan will now miss the conclusion of the Kings three game road trip against the Calgary Flames on Tuesday night.
