The Denver Broncos have reached an agreement with former Patriots cornerback Aqib Talib for a 6-year deal worth $57 million.
The Broncos have perhaps made the biggest splash of the NFL free agency thus far by signing star defensive playmaker of the rival New England Patriots Aqib Talib.
NFL analyst Adam Schefter reported the move first as he tweeted: "Filed to ESPN: Denver has reached agreement on a 6-year, $57M deal that includes $26M gtd with former Patriots CB Aqib Talib, per sources."
The 28-year old Talib was regarded as the top cornerback available in free agency and ranked 4th on PFT's Free Agent Hot 100.
The most impressive aspects of Talib's game are his natural playmaking ability at the cornerback spot and his size for the position, at 6 ft 1 and 205 pounds, Talib is able to cover the biggest and most explosive athletes at the wide receiver position.
The Broncos have really pulled off an impressive coup as they look to bolster a defence that may have held them back from Super Bowl glory last season.
