In today's modern age it is not surprising that Twitter is the home of breaking news in this year's NFL free agency frenzy.

And the Twittersphere had the jump on Eric Decker's proposed move to the New York Jets to prove our point.

Many media outlets are today quoting league sources as they announce the wide receiver's visit to the Jets on Wednesday.

But the secret was already out hours earlier when a number of passengers on a flight from Denver to Newark airport revealed they were sharing their trip with the NFL star.

One such tweet sent late Tuesday night read:

"Just flew from Denver to Newark with Eric Decker," whilst another passenger was clearly excited to let the world know"

"Eric f----ing decker is on my flight #broncos," was sent just before the flight took off.

As mentioned, discussions between the two sides are now common knowledge but it just goes to show that teams attempting to carryout negotiations in private during free agency are going to struggle.

Decker is considered one of the top wide receivers available this year after another strong season on the receiving end of Peyton Manning's passes in Denver helped him to 1,288 yards and 11 touchdowns
