New York Knicks without Chandler & Stoudemire for Celtics clash

New York Knicks will be without center Tyson Chandler and power forward Amar'e Stoudemire for Wednesday night’s game against the Boston Celtics.

It was confirmed earlier today by the Knicks that Stoudemire is struggling with a troublesome knee problem, which is a major blow for the team considering the 31-year-old has rediscovered some of his best form over the course of recent weeks, while Chandler is out because of undisclosed personal reasons.

Despite the double injury setback, the Knicks still go into the match at TD Garden in Massachusetts as the narrow favourites. Mike Woodson’s side are currently in fine form, having won their last four matches, and are expected to make it five against the Celtics before Saturday’s clash against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Cole Aldrich, the 25-year-old center who joined the Knicks from the Sacramento Kings last year, is expected to start the match. Jeremy Tyler, meanwhile, is also in contention to make an appearance.
