Arsenal target Karim Benzema will be offered a salary of €7million-a-year in order to opt for Paris Saint-Germain if he leaves Real Madrid this summer, according to reports.
French newspaper Le 10 Sport claims that the Ligue 1 heavyweights are more than prepared to flex their financial muscle in order to take Benzema back to his home nation, and convince him to reject the idea of staying at Madrid or moving to the Premier League.
Citing Spanish source El Confidencial, Le 10 suggest PSG would be willing to pay Benzema €7million-a-year, as they look to prepare for the possible departure of Edinson Cavani. Rumours have been circulating that the French striker is out of sorts at the Bernabeu, and a number of Europe’s biggest sides are contemplating summer moves for him.
Arsenal however are perhaps the club in most dire need of his services. With Arsene Wenger desperate to add more firepower to his frontline - a task that will become even more pressing if Nicklas Bendtner is to leave the Emirates after this season - fans are expectant of a high-profile striker being bought at the next available opportunity.
If PSG make good on their intentions though, they may be forced to turn to other targets.
