Baylor's new Adidas uniforms banned for NCAA tournament

The NCAA have banned Baylor's new adidas designed jersey for the postseason, according to NBC Sports.

Adidas unveiled the new jersey, which include the words 'Sic 'Em Bears' as opposed to the normal school or mascot name across the chest, earlier this month. However the NCAA now say that they cannot be worn during postseason play because only school names and mascots are accepted.

The school tweeted out the news earlier today: "Baylor will not wear "Sic 'Em Bears" uniforms in postseason. NCAA ruled only team name or mascot can be on front."

Following a trend set by the NBA, the jersey featured sleeves as opposed to the traditional tank-top look. Many professional players including LeBron James have complained about these sleeved jerseys and so this may be a lucky escape for Baylor's players.

Baylor finished the season with a 21-10 record, good enough for the sixth best record in the Big 12. It is not known if Adidas will create an alternative jersey for the team to wear.

The NCAA had already turned down requests by Akron and Iowa to carry additional print on their jerseys this year.
