As quickly as Jets fans were bemoaning their luck with not resigning Darrelle Revis, their fortunes have turned again.
WR Eric Decker, one of the hottest offensive properties in free agency has signed with the New York Jets.
The news has broken via ESPN on twitter and at present there are no details. But rumour has it that a deal has been agreed for five years.
Decker who scored 11 TD's and had over 1,200 yards last year will be getting $15million guaranteed in a deal that could drench $36.25million.
Decker's deal is a very large commitment from a team who has rather questionable options at QB.
The Jets haven't yet made any moves to trade or sure up their QB line which currently has Geno Smith and Mark Sanchez battling for the starting job.
We shall wait and see what happens in the coming days to see if anyone else will join Decker or leave the Jets.
Santonio Holmes's departure yesterday made a good $10milllion of space in the salary cap and presumably, the Jets have more to spend.
At least you can say they've upgraded like for like.
Decker will face off against former Jet Darrelle Revis during the season who earlier signed a one year deal with the New England Patriots.
