Inter Milan are the latest club to join Manchester United in the race to sign Sporting Lisbon star William Carvalho.
According to Portuguese newspaper A Bola, Inter Milan have instructed club scouts to watch Carvalho for the rest of the season ahead of a potential summer bid for the midfielder.
United officials have watched Carvalho at least 10 times already this term, and David Moyes is thought to be weighing up an offer of his own to bring the Portugal international to Old Trafford.
The report claims 'several' European clubs are tracking the 21-year-old, with Inter Milan among the frontrunners following the Erick Thohir takeover.
The Indonesian businessman is ready to invest in the playing squad at the end of the season after bringing in Hernanes from Lazio during the January transfer window.
Inter have been linked with several high-profile players, and have already agreed a deal to bring United defender Nemanja Vidic to the club this summer.
Carvalho, 21, has a release clause in his Sporting contract that reportedly values the player at €45m.
United are desperate for reinforcements in central midfield, and Carvalho is viewed as one of the rising stars in the position.
