Tottenham have a host of injury concerns ahead of their Europa League match against Portuguese side Benfica tonight.
Captain Michael Dawson has been ruled out following picking up a hamstring injury in the 4-0 loss to Chelsea at the weekend.
As well as this, Etienne Capoue is out with an ankle problem, whereas Erik Lamela and Vlad Chiriches are still unavailable, both with back injuries keeping them on the sidelines.
Some positive news for Tottenham however is that playmaker Christian Eriksen, as well as left-back Danny Rose and Moussa Dembélé, are all in contention to make tomorrow's squad at White Hart Lane. Eriksen and Rose have been out with back and knee injuries respectively and their return will be a big boost to the squad.
Eriksen will be a key man to return for Spurs after he was instrumental in their 3-1 victory against FC Dnipro in the last round of the competition.
"Christian has contributed well in his last few matches, both goals and assists and it's great to have him back in contention," Tim Sherwood's told the club's website.
Tottenham haven't played Benfica since the semi-final in the Europa League way back in 1962. Benfica won that match, so Spurs will be hoping to ensure that history doesn't repeat itself tomorrow.
