Chelsea could be set to re-ignite their interest in Lazio winger and Bosnian international Senad Lulic.
According to Italian sources cited by talkSPORT, Lulic could be seeking a new challenge this summer and the Blues could could be set to revive their long-term interest in the player as a result.
28-year-old Lulic - who has won 33 senior international caps for his native country and can play on the wing or as a full-back - joined Serie A outfit Lazio from Swiss side Young Boys back in 2011.
The former Grasshopper star - rated at approximately £9 million and also a reported target for Juventus - has made 21 domestic appearances for his current employers this season, notching two goals from 24 shots and providing a solitary assist during that timeframe.
Chelsea do not appear to have a particularly pressing need for a new wide midfielder, with Egyptian star Mohamed Salah purchased from FC Basel during the recent January transfer window following the slightly surprising sale of former fan favourite Juan Mata to rivals Manchester United.
However, with doubts surrounding the future of England stalwart Ashley Cole - whose contract at Stamford Bridge is set to expire this summer - pursuing a player of Lulic's obvious versatility could be a potential positive for Jose Mourinho.
Although you would surely imagine that Juventus' dominant status in Italy would make them fierce competitors for his signature.
Chelsea, who currently top the Premier League and are seven points clear of closest challengers Liverpool, return to top-flight action this weekend as they travel to face Paul Lambert's Aston Villa on Saturday evening.
