Manchester United striker Robin van Persie posted a photo to Instagram of him sharing dinner with AC Milan midfielder and international team-mate Nigel De Jong.
The Dutch international spent Wednesday evening alongside the former Manchester City star, prompting more speculation about his long-term future with the Premier League champions.
As reported by the Daily Mail, AC Milan have been credited with an interest in bringing Van Persie to the San Siro, as Clarence Seedorf considers attacking reinforcements when the transfer window reopens in the summer.
The 30-year-old is understood to have become increasingly unsettled with life at Old Trafford, and there have been suggestions that Red Devils boss David Moyes is ready to sell him at the end of the season.
Twitter was also awash with rumours that Manchester United could be plotting a move for De Jong, given the fact that Moyes is searching for midfield additions of his own.
However, the likelihood that two friends having dinner together has any relation to prospective transfer business remains slim, so don't read too much into the 'meeting' in midweek.
"Look who's in town!!" posted Van Persie. "Enjoying lovely dinner with my bro's @ndjofficial and @faz_hussain".
