Mike Dunleavy Jr received 10 stitches after being inadvertently elbowed by Rockets' Chandler Parsons before re-entering the contest and finishing with a game-high 21 points in a Bulls win.
The Chicago Bulls blew out the Houston Rockets on their home court by a scoreline 111-87 but the headlines will be filled with the Rocky-esque fightback of a bloodied Mike Dunleavy Jr.
As you can see from the video, Dunleavy Jr takes a vicious elbow to just above the eye from Chandler Parsons in the 2nd quarter and headed to the locker room to receive 10 stitches.
He was reported as being questionable to return but as the news from sideline surfaced that he may continue, he was already out on the hardwood drilling three-pointers to pile on the misery for the Rockets.
Dunleavy Jr made four out of six three-pointers in the contest and his re-emergence in the game was the lift the Bulls needed to comfortably overcome the visiting Houston squad.
The 6 ft 9 swingman showed a grit and determination that was unexpected from the 33-year-old and is sure to win over a lot of fans as well as his in teammates with the heroics he performed in tonights Bulls win.
