Chelsea want to extend the contract of goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, reports Abola.
The highly rated youngster, who has spent the last three seasons on loan at La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid, has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in recent time, but now it appears Mourinho wants to keep him at the club for the long term.
Despite Chelsea having Petr Cech between the sticks at the Bridge, Courtois is expected to eventually overhaul the Czech as the Blues' No.1 in the future.
And now Courtois could be set to commit his future at the club, with his current deal ending in 2016.
Having played a crucial role in Atletico's title challenge and Champions League quest, the Madrid outfit would love to keep him at the club beyond the remainder of this season, with their rivals Real having also been linked with his services in recent time.
It remains to be seen as to whether the shot stopper is sent out on loan again this summer, but it now looks unlikely that he will leave the club on a permanent basis.
However, Courtois and Cech could be going head-to-head for the No.1 jersey at Chelsea sooner rather than later.
