In my opinion it’s no longer a secret that the Dallas Cowboys have been one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL since their last Super Bowl appearance.
For an organization as big as the Cowboys are, nothing short of playoffs is acceptable. Sadly for them they have only been to the playoffs nine times since their last Super Bowl and out of those games they have only won twice. For the average team that's a pretty shaky record to own... for Dallas that is nothing short of unacceptable.
Let's start by getting one thing straight; Tony Romo isn't the problem.
A recurring argument that has been served up after every disappointing Cowboys season is that its the fault of the star quarterback, with many using him as the fall guy for the majority of the franchise's shortcomings. If the Cowboys don’t have a great season the name that will always come up is Romo's.
The man has doubters everywhere, no matter how good he does. I say enough is enough, its time some of these fans see who is really at blame for this Cowboys fall from greatness. I mean if it was really Romo’s fault would he had been offered a six-year, $108million contract extension that guarantees $18million per season?
You don’t just get offered that type of money if you aren’t great at what you do. So with knowing that Romo is rightly earning the mega-bucks, who else is there to blame? In my mind it's the guy who gave him the contract; Jerry Jones.
What a guy, he has done so much to help the NFL, and he has built previous Cowboys teams that have competed with the very best. But that’s all history. As of late Jones has managed the team horrendously.
It’s been widely noted that he needs to relinquish his GM duties but it seems he doesn't think it’s best for the team. Though their record shows that there would be a hoe down in Dallas the day he hired a real GM to manage the team.
I almost think it must be a pride thing at this point because he has to have noticed how mediocre the team has been. No matter how much talent he has loaded this team with they still have yet to make a playoff run.
So me along with the majority of Cowboys fans are begging you; Please, Jerry, hire a true GM.
