Manchester United’s hopes of signing Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos have been boosted as Real Madrid have reportedly withdrawn from the race to sign the German international.
Reports in Spain suggest Real Madrid do not want to get involved in a transfer tussle with Bayern Munich as the two sides have a great mutual respect for one another.
Real Madrid have also been linked with moves for Thomas Muller and Mario Mandzukic, however Real Madrid have also refuted claims that they would be making a move for the aforementioned pair.
News of Real Madrid’s refusal to entice Kroos away from the Allianz Arena will be music to the ears of Manchester United manager David Moyes.
The Scotsman has been keeping a close eye on the 24-year-old central midfielder ahead of next summer’s transfer window.
Moyes is expected to be handed a hefty transfer war chest at the end of the season and has identified Kroos as the man to be the driving force in Manchester United’s engine room.
Kroos, who last week admitted that he would be keen on sealing a move to the Premier League, would be available for around £25million if Bayern Munich were prepared to sell the Manchester United target.
