Liverpool winger Suso wants to earn a new deal when he returns to the club after his loan spell at Almeria.
Suso has been on-loan with the Liga BBVA outfit as they battle against relegation, and has often been a bright spark in what has been a hard season for Almeria.
And from this good form, which includes two goals in 25 games means that the youngster believes he has what it takes to earn a new deal at Anfield.
"I'm enjoying it a lot. I wanted to play every game this year and get a lot minutes. Playing in the First Division in Spain is a good experience for me. Next season I'll be a new player," he told the Liverpool Echo.
"At the beginning of the season, before pre-season, I was talking with Brendan and we were thinking that the best option for me was to go to a team on loan for a year, improve and learn from other players," he added.
Like many clubs, the problem for Suso is competition. With the likes of Phillipe Coutinho, Victor Moses, Raheem Sterling, Luis Alberto and Iago Aspas all fighting for the same position, it seems that the loan move made good sense.
"I didn't want to stay at Liverpool and be on the bench- I wanted to play every game. It's a dream to play at Anfield every weekend and in the Champions League- it's the best option that can happen.
"I would like to sign a new contract with Liverpool and stay there for many years," Suso added.
