Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker has voiced his opinion by saying that March will be a vital month for Arsenal to prove where they will be by the end of the season.
With league games against rivals Spurs, Chelsea and Manchester City to fit in before the end of the month, the Gunners will be looking to claim as many points as possible, and hopefully maximum points over title rivals Chelsea, whom they sit nine points behind at the moment.
There is also an FA Cup semi-final against Wigan to consider, who will be on a high after defeating Manchester City in their quarter-final tie; a feat which Arsenal have not managed this season.
Looking at the next few weeks for the Gunners, one would think that they have it all to do in terms of the quality of opponents they'll be playing, let alone their previous few weeks which has produced, mostly, expected results.
However, Mertesacker believes that Arsenal will do their upmost best in order to get maximum results, despite a number of injuries to their squad who seemingly won't be declared fit for Sunday.
"These are all decisive games," Mertesacker told Sky Sports' Weekend Warm-Up. "There are no points to drop anymore. They are vital games and we are up for it.
"I think it's up to us as to how close we can stay to the top. We have to concentrate on ourselves and we have to stay as close as possible to the top and that's the most important thing to us."
