Pittsburgh Penguins long time injury concern James Neal has now been ruled out indefinitely with a concussion the team confirmed of Friday.

Neal met with the team doctors on Thursday before Friday's announcement and rather than being ruled out for the season which is a common announcement at this stage, he has been ruled out indefinitely.

The Penguins Forward has missed 21 games this season and has been a major loss to Pittsburgh as he was in the midst of an impressive year.

Scoring 22 goals and getting 49 points in the 44 games he has participated in, the Penguins will now have to continue to try and replace the young Canadian.

Other than Neal, Penguins fans are concerned over Chris Kunitz who collided with a goal post in the teams 2-0 victory over the Washington Capitals on Tuesday night.

Kunitz didn't skate with the team on Thursday but was back during Friday's skate.

The Penguins begin a home - and - home against the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday and Kunitz condition and readiness to play is still questionable.
