Rich Peverley returned to the American Airlines Center for the first time since he collapsed on the Dallas Stars bench on Monday night.

Peverley was one of thousands of people who gave the Stars medical team a standing and raucous ovation before their game against the Calgary Flames on Friday night.

Appearing up in the executive boxes of the arena Peverley helped the fans give the men who he claims 'saved his life' the thanks they deserve.

Speaking in a news conference on Friday night, Peverley said: "They all attended to me after I passed out and they saved my life and I will forever be grateful."

Peverley went on to thank everyone from the doctors at the UT Southwestern Medical Center to some high profile Dallas Stars personnel to the entire hockey world.

The Dallas Stars Forward is now out for the season and is scheduled to undergo surgery to help regulate his heartbeat.
