NFL Hall of Famer and legendary Buffalo Bills Quarterback Jim Kelly has been diagnosed with a recurrence of cancer.
After undergoing a surgery to relieve pain in his jaw and the left side of his face on Wednesday, doctors at the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo determined that his cancer had returned.
Kelly underwent surgery to remove cancerous cells again from his jaw last June and was fortunate that radiation and chemotherapy were not necessary.
This time however it appears those treatments will be needed as Kelly prepares to have the same surgery again next week.
Kelly was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 2002 and throughout his Bills career broke and still holds most of the franchise passing records.
Kelly has requested that everyone keep him in his prayers and hopefully the NFL legend will be able to pull through this scare like he did on the last.
