Manchester United's academy at that time was famed for the standard of players they were bringing through, mostly from the 'Class of '92', but they got as many wrong as they did right.

Greening was a tidy passer of the ball and you can be excused for thinking he may turn into a very good creative deep-lying playmaker at some point, which explains why he was present in 1999 with David May.

It just didn't happen for him though and he is generally better known for his decent spells with Middlesborough and West Brom, not the Camp Nou heroics.
