David Moyes is not 'Manchester United standard'

David Moyes endured yet another excruciating day as manager of Manchester United on Sunday as he watched his beleaguered side succumb to defeat at the hands of Liverpool, their fiercest of rivals.

Twice Steven Gerrard scored from the penalty spot before Luis Suarez added a late third, while last season's champions saw Nemanja Vidic sent off as the visitors enhanced their own chances of Premier League glory.

Moyes has overseen a number of horrid performances during his brief tenure at Old Trafford, with losses to Manchester City, West Brom and Olympiacos all rather painful, but it will be the capitulation against Liverpool that cuts deepest for the manager, the players and the supporters.

When asked about the club's top four prospects following the 3-0 defeat, Moyes was not prepared to give up but, with Manchester United some 12 points shy of the Champions League positions, the chances of mounting a challenge before the end of the campaign would appear slim at the very best.

As if they were not infuriated before, Manchester United fans are now more readily prepared to voice their displeasure at Moyes, as was evident by vox-pops conducted by FullTimeDEVILS following Liverpool's victory. One fan was particularly dismayed, claiming Moyes and is coaching staff are 'not Manchester United standard' and do not have a 'Scooby Doo' what they are doing.
