Croatia go into the World Cup in Brazil on the back of a disappointing Euro 2012 campaign in Poland/Ukraine.
Croatia were in a group that included the two finalists at the tournament, Spain and Italy. Their performance was good in the qualification stage and they were probably good enough to go further in the tournament if Italy or Spain weren't in there group.
They again have been drawn in the toughest groups in the tournament sharing a group with hosts Brazil, Mexico and Cameron.
Croatia will find it hard to beat the likes of Mexico with the defenders having to deal with some of Mexico's attackers like Javier Hernandez, who have pace to burn but they should prove the stronger side and claim three points.
As for Cameroon I think Croatia should defeat the African nation but they have been known to put up with a fight in the past and we could see an upset in that game.
But can they beat group favourites Brazil? No I don't think they can beat this current Brazilian side and they shouldn't get too down hearted over this as I can see Brazil defeating almost all of the countries they come up against.
Saying that, Croatia may have what it takes to scrape a draw from the hosts although a long-shot if they get a stroke of luck we may see that happen.
I believe Brazil will top the group but I think Croatia will have with it takes to go on and reach the last 16 of the tournament as runners up.
The squad they have consist of players like Luka Modric, Ivan Rakitic, Mario Mandzukic and Dejan Lovren so with a strong squad that played well in previous tournaments can they beat some of the worlds best nations?
If they progress in their group, which I think they will, they will do it as runners up in the group, which will mean they will likely face Spain in the last 16.
So although Croatia have a solid enough squad, I don't think they have what it takes to make it past the last 16.
If it is any consolation, however, they do have a tough group with the prospect of facing Holland or Spain in the last 16 so they will be beaten by worthy opponents.
Predicted finish: Round of 16
